Crazy in Texas

Image

Ahead of them, with eyes closed, I charge for a drier piece of land.

Gripping the oxidized metal bars on your window.

Finding there is no outside to the outside.

Remembering things that never happened and

forgetting that I’ve forgotten yesterday

until you sing about it tomorrow.

Wide awake now,

My legs thrown over a quilted edifice,

I tuck my dreams under your eyelids.
